Jellyfish showing up in tank?

That's a jellyfish. I've seen this happen before in the past. Not sure what exact species tho.. can't really keep them alive long term.

I've had a couple of teeny jellies show up.
Reason is simple; baby jellyfish start out as tiny polyps. They can hitch-hike in very easily. Unfortunately, without a dedicated setup you have no chance of keeping one alive for long-term. They get sucked into filters or hurt themselves on walls; jellyfish need tire-shaped tanks with a soft flow pushing them around.

^This, well put.

Feedings would also be needed in their own species setup..

I know upside-down jellies need high lighting.. but I'm not too sure if that goes for all of them.

Jelly fish aren't the only animals that produce medusa like that (if memory serves), hydroids do as well.

Have these in my tank too. Caught one a few months ago and put it in its own tank. Now it's dime sized. I think its Cassiopea species. The research I've read says they are expert only so I don't expect him to live much longer but am trying my best. He's very cool!
