Jenyphur's BioCube 32 LED Blog

Really enjoyed reading your thread here! I'm on day 4 with the same set up so it's great to get your insights. Please keep the posts coming!! Looking great.

Thank you ...it has been fun and a little nerve wrecking all at the same time. I swear every day I find something new or something isn't quite looking like it did the day before. Some corals are doing great one day and then seem a little smaller and sad the next...then back to plump and happy. Lol.

Well look back at those pictures from when you first set the tank up to where it is now and I'm sure it's very rewarding and worth it!! :)

Ok this is exciting !!! About a month ago I purchased a little duncan frag online and during shipping it broke off and tore the skeleton. I thought for sure it was a goner. I super glued it back together and hoped for the best. I will post pics of what a sad little frag it was.

Now today I just noticed two new heads !!!! I am the proud parent of two baby duncans. See pics.

I have only purchased from Saltwater Junkies and Studio Blue. Both have been great so far! Super friendly and knowledgeable for someone like me that is new to the hobby.

I am still amazed that these corals have mouths and reallllllly open up sometimes. Its so cool !

Jenyphur,
Beautiful tank. I am laughing as you took a photo of the same tank I was drooling over at the suprise area store studio blue.
You have a great looking tank love the rock work / layout. I am building a new 20 gallon in my office you are inspiring me to take lots of photos and do a build post like this.
I have some of that BRS pukani and got a major algae bloom, are you having the same issue and did you prep the rock any certain way?
One last thing I had a 3 headed duncan in my 105 gallon that is now about 15 heads. If yours doesn't bounce back I can spare a frag off of mine.
Great thread and great looking build!

Thanks CrabbyDan (great name)...

It sure has been fun. Today I added a toadstool leather coral. I am really hoping that my clowns take a liking to it.

My daughter claims she saw one of the clowns 'resting' on the duncan the other night but I am not so sure she really saw that. I have been watching for 2 days and nothing.

I think the duncan is doing great but I would love to see what a big one looks like all grown up if you have a pic, please post it.

Oh and no I didn't do anything special to the rock, basically cured it while cycling my tank. I am wanting to do a small tank for my office also. Ugh..this hobby is expensive. :)
