Jims 16" bubble

Sorry, it's definitely time for some new pix. Added some new corals & things have settled out. Been trying to clear out a patch of Bryopsis. Had it really bad in my old big tank (a large part of why I broke it down). The rocks in this tank had been in the sump (dark) of that tank so bacteria could get established. I guess some Bryopsis spores came along with the bacteria.

I'll take some new pix soon.

Finally an update

Finally an update

Sorry It's been along time.

Don't know why these washed out when I saved them as a jpeg for photbucket. I even went back & bumped the saturation up & reuploaded & they are still pale. Anyway you can see that things have changed a bit, grown a good bit.

I have some videos too. They are from my phone & color is to blue but it's nice to see things moving!

You can see in this one part of why it's been so long for an update. I converted my 180 reef to a planted discus tank.

Couple different looks of the critters.

Almost forgot, new shot of the sump.

The little white tube on the left is ATO line. I use a litermeeter to pump in RODI topoff water. I have been doing a 3gal water change about every six days. Change a 2/3 cup of GFO out once a month & add a tiny bit of alkalinity once in awhile, don't know where the alkalinity goes everything else stays right where it should be. I haven't even checked any thing else, it stays right on now.

If you'd like to see the thread on the discus tank

That's about it for now.
Hope everyone had a good summer.

Hey Jim, your tank is looking great. Did you ever find a source for a larger glass sphere?

Thanks every one. This is a fast group! Only took a few minutes for three replies.

No never did find larger glass sphere. 24" acrylic was it.

The sphere is really nice shape for a tank, just not many choices.

You could always take up glass blowing as a hobby and make one as large as you want.

Just what we all need, another hobby. Not a bad idea though. I do know a couple glass blowers. Have to keep that in mind, never know when a person may need a new project.

Even though it's small this is in the top three most amazing builds I've ever followed. By far the best nano build ever. My hats off to you sir. Absolutely incredible!!!

Good Job. I'm sure the lighting effect in person looks a lot nicer.
Very interesting deal.

It really does look nicer in person & some of the colors never photograph right under LEDs. Took these kinda spur of the moment, really needed some flash. I'm going to bring a flash home from work & take some better stills this weekend.

Thanks all
Jim

Few more pix. Still not completely happy with the FTS but better, a little flash helps. Never going to get the colors right. The tank LED is way blue, flash is neutral & lights in the room way yellow orange. Nothing new though.

Also did some at night of the dendros with 100% flash. The flash is off the camera with one of those cords so all the auto still works.

Balanophyllia & photosynthetic sea fan, fan has closed up for the night.

Have you ever noticed if you shoot through the glass at much of an angle your photos will never be sharp. Think it the two sides of the glass & the space between that makes two reflections slightly out of register.
