Jims 3gal temprate pico

Thanks

Was going to get water, rock & sand in today, but some friends stopped by & stayed a long time. Should happen tomorrow.

The dry rock has been in a holding tank cycling so long it has coraline algae growing already. Temperate tank cycle tanks a really long time, hoping that will shorten it. I can't wait to see some critters in the tank.

I glued a half dozen pieces of dry rock together to fit.

Sadly it is not in a showy spot, on a self in the filter back room. My hope is, after I have some nice live stock established my wife will say That's so nice you should put it in the living room. Dare to dream.

I wanted to find some acrylic discs to set the tank on. Thought it would like good & make it so I can get under it to pick it up & move. Also when some water get on the table it can be cleaned up & dry out better. Couldn't find any so guess I'll have to make some. It's setting on some plywood strips for now.

Every thing is running OK. Temp is at 69 now, will take it down 1 degree a day to 55. Then start checking to see if it is still cycling. Think it should be mostly done.

I don't have a video camera just Iphone (no tripod mount) so will have to get some help shooting a video of changing color with the channels.

I don't like the gap between the water line & the bottom of the canopy. I didn't think i'd mind, but I do. Have to make another one now. This time may have the front open, might be to small a gap to do the spot feeding, but only one way to know for sure.

I thought I posted this earlier but apparently I did not. One of my ice probes quit, temp is only 60 now. So ordered another & will get this one fixed & keep for a spare. Till this is worked out I'm holding off on livestock.

I just got the other lights, very nice. I'll get one of the two mounted soon. A single strip seems to look better than the two shorter ones, in this tank any way.

I seem to remember hearing there was a way to translate posts, but don't know how it's done. Anyone know?

ciao, sono curioso di vedere coma va a finire, molto interessante.
ciao
Max

He says " hello, I'm curious to see coma ends up, very interesting. Byr max"
Coma I'm not sure what it means so I just left it in his language, but I think it means "how it".

So all together I think he is saying. "Hello, I'm curious to see how it ends up, very interesting. Bye, max"

Thank you & Max

Is there some way to run posts through some place for translation?

I'm the typical American, english only. Not even all that good at english either.

Supposed to be delivered tomorrow! I have talked with the guys at Cold Water Marine about a livestock order. They were collecting this weekend & said they'd get back to me Mon. or Tue. about what new they would have in stock.

Getting close!

The order got held up a bit. It's here now & critters are in. Was going to give them a couple more days to settle in, then take a bunch O pix. I'm learning what they like to eat so I can get pix when everyone is open & happy. Stuart put together a nice order for me. Good CUC, 4 kinds of snails, tiny decorator crabs, several brittle stars, 3 shrimp. Three kinds of nems to start & tiny barnacles that feed most all the time. One freaked out Catalina goby, has only come out of his cave a couple times so far. One clump of macro algae.

Surprisingly there is plenty of room on the rock for a good bit more livestock. There is several things I'm wanting from the next UK order they get in. Plus a few more things from their coast.

Also have the bolts to mount the other lights with. Will do that too & see which looks best. I'm sure any of them would be fine.
