hi everyone, so this is my first saltwater tank, and my first RC thread. I got an early christmas gift, an Advanced acrylic nano tank. its an all in one and roughly 11 gallons.
Dimensions-15x15x12
i plan on keeping mainly softies, lps, and possibly a few sps.
Here's some pics.
actual tank with the bag of sand il be using, sugar grain size sand.

roughly what the aquascape might look like its going to be drilled and have acrylic rods going through it. maybe even might add some rubble to the final aquascape.

so this is just the start as far as future additions(priority stand), would be an LED setup for lights, skimmer im looking into a decent nano skimmer, and still need a heater and return.
give me some ideas/opinions/recommendations please.

if you guys know were i can get a nice stand at a decent price let me know.

nice start jocelyn... welcome to the southern california reef forum...

you're in HP..? we're neighbors... when you're ready for corals hit me up... i'll frag you up some zoas or something...

Nice little tank, I just set up a slightly bigger AIO, I love it.

- I would get a 50-75w heater, I have used the hydor ones, and the Marineland stealth heaters without problems. Although the Jager glass heaters are always best if you can find one.
- For lights, I would go LED, I just built a small LED light for about $130 in parts. Some pics of it are here - http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1947283
- For return I used a Maxijet 900 (about 250gph). I bet a 600 word work fine as well.
- I decided against a skimmer, I will have a small fuge lit by LEDs with chato in it, and just do water changes instead of a skimmer.

im wondering, why cheato instead of a skimmer?

Lol. No need to ask Gumbii. He'll answer b4 you ask the question. Haha

lol :lolspin::hammer::lolspin:

im wondering, why cheato instead of a skimmer?

Maybe cause HOB skimmers are expensive and aren't as effective as insump skimmer vs cheato which is cheap and good at pulling out nitrates and phosphates. also cheato can be stuffed in one of your back compartments and hidden unlike a HOB skimmer that hangs there all ugly? JUST A GUESS LOL
