I have a few aiptasia poping up. I was going to try joes juice but I have a carpet and LT anemone in this tank. Does anyone know how safe it is to use with these in the tank?

Thanks,
Chuck

i don't know . I have seen it kill zoas. Joes juice didn't work for me that well either.I use kalk paste with a suringe and they never come back

I used in a tank with a carpet - and never had any problems - I think it may just be something like kalk paste anyway .

It is perfectly fine. I would just recommend you turn off your powerheads and such beforehand so you don't get too much of it flying around. It is only going to do serious damage on contact, and having a few particles flying around the tank is perfectly fine with anything, especially something large like a carpet and an LTA.
And if you haven't already bought it, just get/some some kalkwasser instead. Instead of 2 ounces for 20 bucks, you get about 450 grams for 10. it is the exact same thing. Both are Ca(OH)2. Just mix with RO water to make a paste and you are ready. Just cover to aiptasia and you'll be all set.

Marine Depot has 20 MLs for $6.39 so thats why I was asking. Thanks for the tips everyone. I could just pull one rock out that has nothing on it except 2 aiptasia and there are 2 others on a large rock that I could chisel off...

a few peppermint shrimp worked like charms for me... i had a ton of aptasia in my 210 gallon tank and within 2 weeks it was completely gone.

Agree with fishieness, I have both and I've used both. Don't spend the money on Joe's, most likely you've got the kalk already anyways and if not then maybe you can give it a shot for alk supplement after you slay some aiptasia with it.

I did have some shrimp but my clown and damsels at them or I have/had a pistol shrimp that at them.. I dont use kalk I use Randy's 2 part dow and Mag flake. Also I dont think peppermints actually rid your tank of Aiptasia I think they keep it out of site. Kinda like emerald crabs and bubble algae..

Thanks everyone for the input..

Chuck, I've been using a kalk solution in a syringe to take care of my aptasia. If you don't have any kalkwasser call me this weekend and I'll make a batch for you. Used mine in both tanks with softies, RBTA, LTA, SPS, etc. No issues or bleaching due to a pH spike.

I have also found several remedies for aiptasia.
#1- peppermint shrimp did a great job in my tank...
Actually yesturday there was an aptasia in the middle of my zoo patch so I just scraped it off with a razor blade even though it may grow back. However, as soon as I put the frag back in the tank not a minute later the peppermint shrimp came over and started eating all the remnant of the aiptasia and it's completely gone now.
#2- powdered calcium-
What I like to do is put a good amount on a plate and add a very small amount of water to it. This makes a pasty substance that I put on the aptasia. I let it sit out for 5 min or so, wash off the frag in some tank water in a cup and put it back in. This method has never failed for me either.

Thanks Stan, maybe we will hook up at some point..

Refer07 thanks I cant take my rock out of the tank it is huge and stuff is stacked on it. The pepermints get eaten in my tank.
