Thanks Rob

Thanks Rob

First time I bought most everything from a local LFS, Southwest Saltwater. Nice to get what you want as promised and not pay the "Tucson Premium" most Tucson LFS's try to stick you with. I was hesitant getting the Lee-Mar, wanted Oceanic, Rob kept saying go Lee-Mar. Got jacked around by Oceanic and they did not sound like they had their act together after the move, plus their quote was almost double on stand and tank. Went Lee-Mar, Diamond Edge, Starphire front, center overflow with split braces. I was amazed, I've been around tanks about 40+ years, never seen all the joints perfect till this tank, always at least one slightly overlapped and lots of bubbles. Ran it on tap water for a day, drained it, filled with RO, ran it a day, then remineralized and salted it. That Deltec scares me, after the milk cleared to just a haze, turned it on and in 2 hours had a 1" white/brown skimmate. When I washed the cup, the neck had a sludge build up, Liz wasn't around to take that pic, I was really impressed and happy I decided on Deltec over Euro-Reef this time. Good thing I hadn't put the "Live Sand" in yet, it would have skimmed out my bacteria. Never used Live Sand before, can't hurt, and might help get things running, since as soon as the Solaris gets here the SPS are moving over fast. My tank got taken over by hair algae when they did my AC and windows, part lack of attention and part drastic change in photo period. The SPS are OK, just a lot of hair all around.

Sounds Cool John. Ahhh, my nemesis, hair algae. Mine is 95% gone! The back wall is full of corraline and no hair algae at all on it. There is a bit of HA remaining on a few rocks, that is all.

Can't wait for Liz to snap some shots!

Any micro bubbles from the Deltec? I am thinking of getting a new skimmer in the show tank before I load it up with Anthias and my only complaint with ASM's and ER is the micro bubbles. Gonna decide between a bubble master and a Deltec, or possibly a DIY. The ASM is doing great and the Nitrates are still 0 (mostly due to the remote deep sand bed).

The Micro bubbles stay in that section of the sump, none make it past the baffel. Love that gravity feed for the skimmer, Deltec suggests a valve on the output too, but it looks like I won't need it. I've been playing with it and can get fine foam at any level I want, I'll have a Euro-Reef for sale here in a few weeks with new back up pump and needle wheel. I'm a Deltec convert, lol
