Journal or Maintenance Log

Hi,

I have been looking for an application or a technique to keep a journal and a record of my tanks specs and testing results as well as my routine maintenance. I can't seem to find any opinions on this. I oppologize up front if this is somewhere else but I haven't been able to find it and I have been looking for a while.

Can anyone give me some direction on how you track your metrics on your tanks and what applications or techniques you use?

Thanks,

Doug

Can't help a whole lot, but back when I was better about tracking that stuff I just made myself a simple excel spread sheet. Put the params I was tracking on the left, and dates across the top.

Back when I used to keep track of parameters, I used one of those daily reminder calenders from Office Depot.

I use excel to track mine. With different tabs I keep track of maintenance, water tests, equipment changes, livestock. etc. has worked really good for me.

Thanks for the replies. Something like Reef Con is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want to have to develop something myself.

Beware that if you start tracking expenses you'll scare yourself with how much it's really cost you:eek:

Yikes... I guess my ball point pen and log book tactics are a thing of the past...

It's actually surprising how valuable a log can be, many times I look at old photos, realize something looked different or better, then go through the logs to see what I was doing back then...

You think you can remember... :-)
