Jules New 180 Gallon Build

I recently bought a brand new glass 180 Gallon Setup after losing my 90 gallon reef to the winter storm of 2010 power outage.

180 Gallon 6' x 2' x 2'
40 Gallon Custom Sump

Future Setup Plans:
4 to 5 inch DSB
Sump with Refugium
At least 125 lbs LR
Lights: Unknown (need advice on T5) not going MH for Heat and power usage issues. I know MH is the best but want to go with a really good T5 system and maybe in two years when LED mature and come down in price I will look into them.

In the third picture that is rock from my dead tank that I am trying to save. I will buy 75lbs more of fresh live rock to add with it

You know I am new to this site and started looking at some of these insanely awesome builds of 500 + gallon tanks.

I feel like an *** now posting on here :)

Can someone point me in the right direction in doing my bulkheads on my overflow. I got the kit but I am not sure if I use the washer that comes with it or remove that and use silicone?

What is the best way to make sure my bulkhead in the overflow is sealed?

I wouldn't recomend using silicone, use the washer and hand tighten it and it should be fine. If you use silicone, you will have more difficulty down the road removing it if need be.

Great start on your new tank! Looking forward to the progress!

I got my plumbing done and plan on filling the tank once my sand comes in.

Here are some pics.

Also if anyone can give me good advice on where to buy good live rock online or in the Pittsburgh area, please let me know.

every time I have looked into this question people said to buy just one small piece of live rock and then get some Marcorock and let it seed itself unless you are in a huge rush....

Updated Pics on the 180....
