This months meeting will be on the 21st, which is this saturday. it will be held at the house of Lorenzo Ramos and we will be shooting fireworks (weather permitting). the address is 13030 N. 143rd E Ave in collinsville, the meeting will be held at 7 and we will be talking about tank setups. Lorenzo is in the process of building a new reef tank, and it will be interesting on his plans for it. I believe its a standard 120 Deep Sea tank from oddballs. Im sure Lorenzo would be more than happy to discuss his current tank and his plans on the new one. his number is 918-640-0045 if you get lost. I will be sending out an email tomorrow. bring your own fireworks if you like and scott from oddballs will be shooting quite a bit of his own as well, and if you havnt seen scotts fireworks, i will tell you first hand that they are the BOMB!!!:blown::dance::crazy1: hope to see everybody there

Due to the burn ban effective in our county, there will be no fireworks this weekend during the meeting. However, I do plan to grill some sausage burger and hot dogs, plenty to drink and munch on. I would like to get a head count on number of people who will be attending please.

Directions: If coming from Tulsa, drive north on HWY 169 towards Owasso. Take exit to 126th St N. Turn right (East) on 126th st N to the first Left (North) on 143rd East Ave. My House is at the end of the road with the big metal shop. If you are using a GPS to get to my house it will bring you half way down the street and show that you have arrived. Please continue to the end of the street. Thanks. Lorenzo. Any other questions my cell # is (918)645-6911

Jarrod,
i enjoyed the the tulsa aquarium society meeting saturday, even though i was the only one who showed up for it. That was a shame, because the hamburgers were delicious and alot of food was prepared, but not eaten. The ramos's were wonderful hosts and i learned so much about the new advancements in reef care (wow, am i behind). Lorenzo showed me his woodshop and his custom cabinet's he's built and is building. He's very talented. I'm really getting the aquarium bug again, and my dear wife is hating every minute of it. Thanks for the invitation and i hope to go to another one soon.

Thanks again,
gary

so, not even any of the club officers were there?
If this is true, regardless of the reasons, I think the club owes an apology to the host. What a waste of time and money spent on food.

Unfortunately a lot of these current club offocers have lost interest in the hobby and have no time to offer leaving mostly only LFS store emoployees or friends running this club. Now I think a lot of people have become bored with the same info and things over and over each month. The club needs a major swing in fresh info, places, and faces to get it out of a rut its been in for quite a while now. I personally along with alot of other former members think this club will never get back to its former glory days without a large shift in power or at least views on how the cluib is ran and how its members and sponsors are treated. This latest meeting is just another example of where thier heads are at I had a feeling that once the fireworks were called off it would be a no show by some who would of made it when the fireworks were still believed to be a go..

I rarely ever miss a meeting but I do have 2 jobs in the summer time where I have to miss at least one meeting.I am sorry I wasn't able to be there but I did let it be known at the last meeting that I wasn't going to be at this one.I am disappointed that people did not go.Gary went on about how nice your tank was and he is wanting to get back into saltwater.I am very sorry Ramos family

I feel bad for the Ramos family, i was on a job site or i would of gone.

On side note, i have always been treated great by the club, its officers and sponsors, generally you give respect, you get respect.

I personally lost a great deal of interest a year or so ago when all the drama started. Once the drama goes away and people start acting like adults, interest wil come back.

I will be the first to say sorry to Lorenzo and his family for the low turnout at his meeting. We have put a lot of effort into making his new tank one of those tanks that most Dream of!!
Also Jarrod you seem to have all the answers so what do we do ??
The voting is in Nov. if I am correct?

Okay everyone, it was really no big deal. Apologies accepted, lets move on. The one person who did show up will probably become a new member in a future meeting. He was referred by Jerrod and lives here in Collinsville. I personally enjoyed showing him all the goodies I have. He was in salt water hobby thirty years ago. No food was wasted, I still had fun, and I got to teach to someone with less experience that me on the newer reef stuff. There is no need for further apologies. Thanks, I hope to see all on the next meeting August 18. Lorenzo and Ramos Family.
