Jumping fish

anybody got a "solution" to fish leaving the aquarium? I can't put a canopy on the tank at this point, and I don't want to cover the tank completely.

Do tanks with eurobracing have a lower occurence of carpet surfing? If so, I could make a faux eurobracing to help alleviate the problem.

yeah, but it also blocks light. I'd prefer to not block any light if possible
If you don't put anything over the top then their is nothing to stop the fish. maybe eggcrate would be better.

Alot of people are using egg crate (personally I feel that would block some of your light). I have see people by square 3/4 inch rod and make a frame that will fit in top of tank and use a layer of window screening. Can you get glass tops??? I love the look of an open top and wouldnt trade it for anything.

Like mentioned a thousand times on this site Egg Crate Will Not Keep Fish In The Aquarium. Bird netting with 1/4" holes or glass tops will.

I'm gonna try to DIY a bridal veil cover with some wood dowels painted black.....I will let you know how it goes. It only cost 8 bucks total, so I'm not out too much if it doesn't work.

I will build it tonight.

I don't know. It is really thin. I held it up to the light and it really didn't cast a shadow.

It is called Tulle material. It comes as a doubled up material, but I'm going to cut it down to one layer.

Hope it doesn't block too much light. If it does, I will look into getting some pond netting.
