i don't know if anyone is interested in doing a group buy for the meeting, or if its too late to put one together.. but mr coral dot com has free shipping to the roanoke area, and lots of nice LPS. Also, if an order is put together of >75 there is a free blue duncan frag given away. just a thought. also, PAW is selling 3 headed frags of duncan for $12...

I called them this morning to ask a couple questions. They are not open til 12:00 on Tuesday. Some of their corals were not specific about size. Just wanted to know if it was a WYSIWYG. I'll be in touch later today.

Just talked with Sonny from *******.com. They had a big sale over the weekend and the sps stock is very low. However they just received a shipment which is not yet on the website. The lps corals are in much better supply. He will take pics and send them of individual corals as requested.
He told me that the photos are taken under Phoenix 14,000K bulbs and should be representative of the corals under similar lighting. Still seems to be a WIDE variety of egg crate colors--purple, pink--on the various pics.
The sps pics ARE NOT WYSIWYG. THEY ARE SELLING FRAGS NOT COLONIES. The lps are a mix...some are WYSIWYG and some are not. Look closely at the descriptions. The numbers above the pics denote quantity on hand. Individual corals will always have a "1" above the pic.

the colonies are WYSIWYG, but he does have frags and in the description it lists a minimum cut.

Also, I would make sure he knows that this is a group buy, that way everyone is getting a duncan that spends 75. I'm sure he would be fine with this, as it would save him money on shipping by combining everyone's order and shipping to someone's house who is coming to the meet. Are you the go to contact guy, Paul?
with this order I will need some help picking out corals that would do well in my tank. I have 14,000 bulbs from phoenix and moderate flow. I don't have any fancy gizmos but I do weekly water changes and I also add calcium when needed. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also could someone PM me the link to see the pics?

because reefcentral blocks advertising, you have to type in w w w . m r c o r a l . c o m into your browser.. bunch of stuff there. Most of the LPS goodies should do fine in your system. I would recommend you make sure your alkalinity is at a level 8-10 as that can affect health and PH; and it is depleted when you add calcium alone. Just post a want list and someone will steer your clear of less hardy corals.

I would be willing to do that. However, time is VERY short. We may need to have a pretty firm idea tonight in order to have any pic requests in early tomorrow.
Ade, what are your thoughts on shipping? My place or yours? I presume a Friday delivery...does Saturday usually work for these outfits? Should corals stay bagged til distribution on Saturday at your place? Do they need to be put in my sump and rebagged on Sat? Or just floated for temp control? I've never ordered corals online.
