junvenile flame angelfish and coral beauty in a 30 gallons?

Has anyone successfully kept a juvenile flame angelfish and coral beauty (approximately 2 inches each fish) in a 30 gallons that currently has a pair black and white clown (female 2 1/2 inches and male 1 1/2 inches)?

I've read odds to increase chance of success is to introduce both fish simultaneously to minimize territorial dispute and non adults. Also read, pygmy angelfish of different species and color alleviates possible chance of aggression problems.

Please share thoughts and comments.

Thanks.

As long as your tank is large enough and you add the at the same time you should be fine..... I'd say a minimum 75.....

30 gal is barely enough room for the clowns let alone two dwarf angels. Don't do it. There are plenty of small interesting fish to add rather than imprisoning those two fish in a 30

Agreed with not putting the 2 angels in a 30g. I have a 30g cube with two clowns and a small flameback (1.5 inches) and that is a lot. There would be a ton of aggression in that tank.

I am all for mixing dwarf angels, but not in your tank. Plus once those clowns start to spawn, they will want that whole tank for themselves.

i agree with everyone and only from experience.
I have a 90g tank with a Coral beauty and Potters angel in my tank. I added the potters angel after the coral beauty. and when first introduced there was some aggression.
I think that having 2 seperate "islands" in my tank to give each dwarf its own territory is what allowed them to coupe with each other.
After a couple days aggression deminished and now they mostly get a long, some chasing here and there but thats it.

In a 30g there would almost be no room for them to have there own space and i'd see one of them getting bullied.

By your pics on photobucket, you must be the dwarf angel whisperer.

I hope I have a little bit of your success. ;)

Yes, Todd is where I would go for questions about anemones, clownfish, and dwarf angels. I don't know if he actually whispers . . . .

:lmao:

To the OP, your smallish tank will be taken over by those clowns which are sexually mature. Definitely do not add any dwarf angels to that tank.

Ha, thanks guys.

If I am whispering to them, they aren't listening, because they still eat any open brain coral I put in the tanks. ;)
