I have been looking for some 250watt DE 20K bulbs for awhile now.

Just found out that hellolights is having a sale on the AB's at $73 ea. That is about $25 less ea than I have seen them anywhere. If you are in the market for replacement bulbs, now is the time.

I have one of these bulbs and have been very pleased with it's performance.

How do you know when it is time to swap out you MH bulb? Will it just fail to light up? I don't know the age of the bulb I use, as it was purchased in a used setup.

I'd swap out the bulbs when the PAR drops by 25 % or so...
Usually at the 10/14 month mark...
If your running Iwasaki's, their good for 18 months with little drop off !

So I assume that I would need to monitor the PAR with one of those light meter thingies.?.?

I cannot speak for every one but I swap out my halides between 9 and 12 months just to be safe.
