In nature thier lite cycle shortens by a few minutes every day for half of the year and lengthens by a few minutes a day for half of the year. That is how they know when to spawn.

If you have your controler set up right it will adjust by a few minutes every day. Or at least mine will it's an ACJR. I don't have it progerammed to do it yet, but need to sit down and reconfigure it. I will aslo program the moon cycle to do the same. By the way I strongly dislike daylight savings time, we should just leave it alone. IMHO

Well duuuh... I never noticed that before...:D

What does that have to do with setting your lights forward an hour...mandated by the keepers of our destiny, the U.S. Congress? :mixed:

The tide also rises and falls twice a day. I haven't figured out do put that on a timer, yet.

Maybe Congress can pass a law on that one, too.

LMAO, i just said that because you said your reason for not changing your time was because that is how it is in nature. Just being a smart a^& lol.

I agree daylight savings time is BS and we should just leave it alone and stay at the same time year round.

Most of the reef creatures we keep are not effected by the tide coming in and out. the reefs are far enough out that they don't get exposed to the air every 8 hours. The area where the tide goes out to is pretty much void of any of that type of life. It's just mud and a few nems that live on rocks by the shore line. The tidal creatures are crabs and worms and that type of stuff. most of the reefs are over a mile off shore and not effected by the tides at all other than the nutrients and polution it brings from the shore.
