Just an idea for the next SRC...

If SRC next time is only going to be 8 hrs again, may I suggest not making it a 7am? I hate mornings, and seeing as all our other meetings are evening time, wouldn't 12pm to 8pm be more in tune with our club's timing?

Oh man, after waking up 30 mintues ago today, I have no clue how I'm going to get there that early tomorrow. That is going to be a horrible morning for me. It's Saturday anyway...isn't that a sleep in day?

If you crash at the hotel, we'll get you a wakeup call...
You can come to the morning meeting in your jammies...

Seriously, It's much cheaper to have it either a day function or an evening function. Then we don't have to pay rent for both times. An evening function wouldn't start until 5 and go till what... 1 a.m.? That might prove tough for the out of town people...

Would everyone coming to SRC please pass by Craig's house in the morning and blow the horn... : )

P.S. As you drive by after blowing the horn, please yell at Craig to send all his frag pictures to Ray

I'm definitely on Craig's side on this. 7AM is totally ridiculous. I mean, if it started at 9 or10am it would be over about 5 or 6pm and I think that would be so much more crowd friendly. Not everyone can stay at a overnight for a variety of reasons, Money, animals, children, work and other commitments, etc. And people who have to travel a decent distance are pressed more. I'm sure the committee had it's reasons, but the timing caters to the early riser rather what I Think would be the majority. Hang in there Craig and I'll probably be late on Saturday.

Yeah, but I don't have a job or the money to do so. Oh, mornings always suck...I would totally be down for an event that ended at 1am:)...works perfectly for me.

I'll resend the frag pictures. I posted all but one online already(under SRC frag event).

The only one I haven't posted pics of is the pulsing sinularia...wouldn't you know it, when I trie to take pics, it was retracted. It is fully healed 2" frag and I have a picture of the mother colony for you to see the fuzziness of it. I'll repost all of my pictures here when I get a second.

Craig,
Thank you in advance for the resend. I'm not sure why I didn’t get it... AS far as the pulsing sinularia is concerned, I guess its "Murphy's law" that you have a frag that is camera shy...

I'm right there with you on the "Oh my gosh that's early" bandwagon. We made the best choice available to us. We can talk about it later in person. I'm sure there will be a recap after the event. I also think it will bear some discussion at the next meeting. Let's all talk about it then.

Everyone else,
Please note that I am a bartender by trade and hence I live the hours of Dracula. I am keenly aware that this event begins a few hours after I normally arrive home. Again, a 10 to 6 event crosses two rental times and so cost a good deal more. This venue is rented out that evening. Please don't judge the event till after you have experienced the event. The venue that we have is amazing. In spite of the early beginning, we are going to have an awesome event! I can't wait!

See you at SRC!

I was just messin around about the late night until 1am...I'm sure that's too late for many people. No real complaints...y'all have done a wonderful job setting this thing up. Just thought I'd mention it for future endeavors...I think the first one started that early, but I remember it going longer than 4:30 (I could definitely be wrong). Also, when the first one was less than 5 minutes from my house, it eased the early morning woes:). I wasn't trying to discount the grandeur of the event...SRC is something I have been looking forward to since the original event in 2005(still cannot believe we didn't have one last year:().

Im with Craig, its going to be hard to get up. I understand the reason why it is that way also. I was planning on coming in late but the first speaker is the 1 I really want to see. So I have to be there. lol. I hope I can stay awake though, its a friends birthday party tonight and they bought 4 bottles of Patron. Sat. is going to be tough.

Ok crybabies...I am driving from Ormond-by-the- sea for this great event, and I work on a garbage truck in the 100 degree heat all day ....I am up at 3:30 every morning (so I can sleep in a bit before I drive all the way to orlando for SRC) .....my point is....would I love to sleep in more, do I need it after last week? YES. This is when the organizers (and cudo's to them for a great job) decided it would be the best for all of us...and I agree...I dont want to drive home from orlando later at night than I have to. No job and can sleep when ya want....bahhh...again great job ORCA on organizing it, the members and those attending that arent members will surely going to enjoy it.

Sorry, I meant Luse, not Luis:):):).

I know I can sleep whenever I want, but my body doesn't allow it:). That is why I said for future SRC's, not this one...even if everyone wanted to change it, it is way too late in the game for rescheduling. Again, I'm not trying to complain at all...everyone has done a superb job at making this happen. I just personally think that since our meetings monthly are at 6pm-11pm+, that a later in the day conference may work for more people in future years.

Please do not take this as an offensive statement, just my $.02. This is meant more for constructive criticism for the years to follow. Man, I wish it was being held where it was held in '05...super convenient for me:):):)...
