I decided to cook all my LR for a few months. I hate worms and aiptasia and all the crap that comes on LR. I know eventually some of it will end up in the tank when I buy corals but atleast I don't have an abundance of it now.
I used this sand called cora-pet available locally which I really liked. Filled it with natural sea water available from the lfs.

I really didn't want to hang a light from the ceiling so I mounted a 36" light on the support braces (i asked here http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1804487 ) and it seems to be holding on just fine. I may add some sort of backup system incase it falls but I doubt it will. The light is very light so let's see how it goes. I only have 1 side on.

And the only inhabitants..

i've had these nudies for a few years now and they love there new mansion after moving from the 12g nano trailer. :D

It has a 20g sump with mag18 return (with eductors), an er skimmer, pb reactor with carbon and a fuge. nothing fancy. I have a 6025 in the rear and a 6055 up on the brace. I plan to get another 6055 for the other side eventually but for now it has plenty of flow.

Thanks for looking. :)

Well while cycling the tank i made the noob mistake of topping off with nsw. Now I am pretty experienced but i've never really used sea water before sold at the lfs. I figured it was ok to top off with it since its not being mixed. Well yeah dumb move it's the same thing. I started losing corals and fish then found my salinity at 1.050. I got it down to normal now and the tank seems to be doing fine now.

The clowns survived the salt bomb. I bought some chromis, a blenny, and a few frags and the tank seems to be doing fine.
