Just discovered Red Bugs

I just discovered Red Bugs on Most of my Acros. Some are starting to Pale. What is the best treatment? I was thinking to Dose PraziPro. I have a 125 Gallon tank and I have 55gallons of Fresh Salt Water Available.

Yea no prazipro I think that would nuke your corals.. Interceptor FTW! Do three doses as to kill all the cycles about a week apart. It will kill all your favorite shrimps/hermits/inverts so make sure to get them out before. Turn off your air to the skimmer(make sure oxygen levels are okay) take out carbon(if I remember correctly) and let it rip. Remember that red bugs are EVERYWHERE in your system. They are in your skimmer, phosban reactor, overflow etc. So make sure not to turn anything offline when doing the dosing or they will come right back.

No it will not. It will not effect snails or anemones. The only form of treatment is dosing your system with interceptor. I think one of the previous posts said "red bug exit" which is confusing "flatworm exit" from salifert that kills flatworms.

+1. Make an appointment with your local vet. Interceptor is available by prescription only and works great against these pests.

Sorry, incorrect information. I got messed up. Flatwarm exit was the product I tried to mention. I guess it is not for red bugs.

How long do I have before Crazy damage is done? It will take approx 5 Days to get to me. from DR Jim.

5 days is fine. You won't lose anything in that time frame. Matter of fact, I doubt you would lose any acros as long as they are healthy. They will just brown out, grow slower, and have very little polyp extension.
