Ok I traded someone here on RC some corals for the Maxxima RO unit.
It has 3 canisters on it and 1 on the top.
He said it should be the Sediment unit on the left, looks like a filterfloss type cartridge in middle and the sponge lookin one on the right. I just saw a pic that was reverse. What is the correct way. Also when can i tell I should replace the filters in it. Trying to figure what GPD is as well.

guess a pic of it would help

Water should flow into the far right canister first(sediment), then the middle canister(sediment/carbon block), then the top canister(RO membrane), then the far left canister(DI canister), in that order.

It looks from the color of those sediment filters they need to be changed. It probably wouldn't hurt to change the DI resin also.

hmmm...i dont think it flows to the far left at all..there is no line that goes to it. I am confused now I think it flows all the water into the middle canister first to fill up

Can you post pic of back side too..? some one may be able to help..
If you open the ro/ case- white thing on top.. maybe the #'s on it will they you GPH..??
I don't se a resticter.. -- that can help they more also..
(more input needed)

You will have to follow to 1/4" tubing around to make sure it is plumbed correctly: Typically a 4 stage Kent is a RO/DI unit.

1st canister - sediment / 2cd canister carbon / then the top membrane / then to the 3rd canister DI resin

I have this exact same model and Smcdonn is right in the order that the water should flow. Im at work right now but if you still need help setting it up PM me I'll help you as best I can. I'll even post a pick of my setup.

well its flowing the way he said. the first one all way to the right fills..then the middle. then it goes up in RO..but there is zero water going into the DI since well doesnt seem to be any hose hooked up to it. I am lost on what to do about the DI part

I dont know anything really..but it looks like the yellow waste water should feed into the back of the DI and then the blue line should come out of the front of the DI canister..

thanks...Seems what i thought was waste should actually be going into the DI unit. I thought that seemed like alot of waste..was like a 25:1 the way it was pouring out

HMMMM after reading that and seeing the waste water was actually correct. Does it slow down some once its plummed properly into the DI..because the waste water was pouring out like crazy and what I thought was the good water was actually supposed to go to the DI was barely dripping. does this sound right...I have never had a RO/DI unit...I am guessing the way its running now is RO only

I was reading more. I am going to replace the membranes and then plumb it properly. Hopefully they where just done. the RO membrane said doesnt need to be changed for 25,000gallon thats ALOT I hope I got alot left in that thing cause it seems to be the most expensive one.

You should connect the "good" RO water line (BLUE) to the intake of the third cartridge, the DI Resin. This will act as the final stage of filtration and then the output from the DI cartridge will be the water you collect. It will just drip out.
The YELLOW line is waste and should be directed to the drain of a sink.

yea i saw in the PDF on how the proper plumbing should be. It wasnt plumbed right. I have to go buy a few fittings and more line to get it all hooked up properly now, So hopefully by the end of the night I can let it run overnight and make a garbage can full of good water.

waste to clean water should be something like 4 to 1. for every gallon of clean you should have roughtly 4 gallons of waste. (I am pretty sure)

Generally 4:1 waste to good water is more like what you should be getting. Of course, judging from the look for the unit and the filters, the membrane may never have been changed and could be mucked up pretty good. You may need to replace the membrane as well as the prefilters.

well i replaced the filters in the canisters. and I have the DI plumbed in now. It is still spweing like 5gal before the good water even dripped out. Do I need a damn RO membrane now

Check for the presence of a flow restrictor in the membrane housings waste water port. Should be a plug looking thing. I didnt see an inline one in your pictures so if it's not in the membrane housing, you dont have one and it wont work without one. It will just pour out waste water.

I dont know if its the membrane seating. the PDF says the membrane should be 1/2 below the line in the housing. I cant get it more then an 1/8" in there
I see no kinda plug anywhere on the unit or membrane
OHH I see the restrictor is supposed to be inline on the waste water line. let me go check to see if thats in there

Nope dont see one in there..so guess that is my problem. What can i do about this
