Just Got First Zoo's...how long til they open

I just got my first zooanthids tonight. I acclimated them and placed them in my tank. How long until they open up and show their colors?

There are many variables that will determine the timeframe of them opening. Most frags I have received take very little time to open, usually just hours. Some on the other hand can take a day or two depending on the stress from shiping or from the acclimation procedure. As long as your tank specs are correct you should see them open soon.

I agree with cfrobin. I got a frag pack recently & one set opened up within less than an hour. The other one took a week or two to open.

kuda, where they shipped or did you get from a LFS and take right home. In my experience, the longer they are in transit, the longer they take to open. I'm sure other variables play in , but this is generally my experience.

I also always do a FW dip with one drop of Iodine, which may be a factor too.

Definitely depends like reef fanatic says. I've bought locally and within a few hours they are open. I'd give it a couple of days and see what happens.
