Just got my Canon 100mm Macro lense in today, and was messing around. Tell me what you guys think.

Take a bit to get used to but I think I did alright for the first time. Maybe :).

Thanks guys, I should have up some better pictures in the near future.

BrunstuckyJoe, the camera is a Canon 10D, with a 100mm macro lense. The 10D is pretty outdated, but it was free so I'm not complaining.

How did you manage to get it for free?

My brother, he is into photography big time. His company bought him a 50D, so he gave me the 10D.

You throw in some frags in return for my services, I think we can work something out ;).

Nice pics! I agree with T.J. there are some nice avatars there. I like this one personally :)

I reduced the brightness and saturation trying to compensate for some overexposure in the original. If you have the manual check out page 89 on exposure compensation. I usually shoot my tank with a -1 or even -2 if the subject gets "blown out" or is too bright in the picture.
When we use such bright lighting and then take close up pics it tends to send too much light to the camera and makes things lose definition because it all looks bright. If you adjust the exposure it will be like taking a picture with sunglasses on :)

If you don't have the manual for that camera you may want to grab it and save the PDF for future reference at the link below.

Sorry if you already knew all this... just trying to help.

Keep the pics coming!

Thanks Kevin, and no I am not into photography as much as my brother. So no I don't know jack about this stuff. He pretty much set up the camera for me and handed it over. I am still trying to figure out how to adjust the f2.8, and so on. Reading up though, so hopefully I can get better pictures up after I figure out how to fix the settings.

Very nice. Did you use a photo box or were they taken through from outside the tank.
Phil

Picture taken with tripod right in front of tank. I think I was about 6" from the front of the glass, and the corals are pretty much in front of my glass.

That be the one Zach, but the price that is going to hit you will be in buying lense.
