Just got my first rics...can I take off frag plug?

I'm pretty new to reef keeping, especially ricordeas. How should I place these? I'd rather them be closer together, and wanted to know if breaking them off plugs would hurt them? It looms like a few may be attached to a rock, attached to the plug.

Ofcouse you can break them off as long as the pebble underneath is big enough for you to pull it off carefully. Be sure not to damage the ric's fragile tissue by your finger.

I broke mine off the plugs and placed them all on the same rock, just break the rock off the plug. Give them a little space between them, when they get situated in your tank they get bigger. Yours look deflated but that will change over time.
