I just got my first two percs from LFS and love them! they are baby ones so they are only maybe 1/2 long. They are the first ones in my new 90gal tank. Only thing that kinda worrying me they stay at the top over by the overflow. I am kinda worried since they are small some how end up in my overflow :( Will they eventually go explore into the caves I have built and the rest of the tank? They have been in there 3 days now and just ate some rods food today also. Thanks for your help!

Yes they are. The guy at the fish store says some just take a little longer for the strips to show up then others.

how big are yours? Mine are baby's and are less than 1/2inch in size. either way they are awesome just wondering why they wont swim around the rest of the tank at all.

mine is about 2'' and still haven't developed any stripe except for the first one and is hosted in bta right now i hope u didn't pay perc price for those.

Starting to get worried about my two little guys, they have barley ate anything since I got them. I have tried baby pellets and now tried rods frozen food. Just eating little tiny pieces not eating anything decent size. Am i worried about nothing or maybe something wrong?

I am no expert, but you do not appear to be getting answers to the ? You asked. In my experience, the clowns will claim a territory and stay in that area most of the time. Once you develop a female she will likely swim around your tank(the male will not leave his territory until they have paired. My male currently hangs out in the upper left corner of the aquarium and hardly ever leaves it, but he does appear to be healthy. After they have paired, the male will not leave the females side unless protecting eggs.

As for eating, I would not be worried yet. They often don't eat for the first few days in a new tank.

As I said before, I am no expert but this would be my advice from reading other threads and my own experience.

Sad day today. came home and couldn't find my three stripped clownfish. Spent bout 10 mins looking then looked where I didnt want to, the sock. there he was sitting up against it upside down. I am thinking he got sucked into the overflow, where the the hole is on the top of the overflow for the return nozzle. Learned first lesson dont buy tiny fish when you have decent size tank. Should of probably picked out bigger ones for the tank I have.
