Looks good Josh and good field report.

Thanks for getting my corals, things are looking good.
I especially like the larger torch coral.

Good to hear.

Its always difficult to buy for someone else. You said you wanted hearty corals, so I concentrated on torch, leather, and muchrooms.

Did they all bounce back well from being in the bags overnight? In just about 3 hours mine really polluted their bags.

yer such a fish groupee....and Bob has authored and co authored a couple books...I have one co authored by Fenner and Calfo about Marine Inverts ;)

Purple Up

Purple Up

Nice return nozzles. You should try putting some "Purple Up" into your sump's return chamber to analyze your flow pattern in your display now.

It would be really cool to see that on film and would probably provide you some really useful information in a safe manner.

Whenever I add my phytoplankton I can watch it swirl all around.

I just wanted more surface movement. I wasn't getting all of the halide shimmer that I wanted to :)

I am receiving two new specimens Saturday.

Acropora gemmifera and Montipora confusa

I hope they do well. They are from the Diver's Den section of liveaquaria and looked very healthy.

I will upload pics when they settle in.

There were pics on the site until I bought the pieces, then they were removed.

The confusa was a beautiful neon green with black valleys.

BTW I downloaded some great demos of XBOX 2 games. Saturday night is gonna kick ***.

Looks pretty, Josh.

I like the new additions and sorry to hear about your losses; your Gorgonia was really nice, in particular.

Let me know when you need some Xenia. It's starting to get to the point that I need to trim it in a couple of weeks. I'll need some for the new tank, but it seems to grow back rapidly.

I wish the white Pom Pom variety was as quick-growing.

Thanks!

I also wish the pom pom grew quicker. Mine did nothing for 5 months. I suppose it deserved to get smothered by Zoanthids. I'm sure if the zoanthids hadn't of smothered it, it would have suffered the same chemical death as the silver stripe Xenia.

I need to do some more research on Gorgonias. I need to better understand how they work. I'd like to get some more in the future.

Cheers

I made a few enhancements to the tank tonight.

I replaced the chiller pump with an Eheim pump. Now all of the pumps in my system are Eheim and I don't have to listen to the noise from the Mag anymore.

I removed the unwieldy plastic rails that my Tunze mounts to and replaced them with a Tunze magnet. MUCH better. Now I can position my powerhead wherever I want it.

I installed the photoelectric cell for my Tunze controller. So now I can have a different pump program depending on day or night. This is neat I already dialed in some great settings and ran the tank with the lights on and off to test it.

I also adjusted my return nozzles a little bit since I moved my Tunze a little bit. I like the flow pattern in the tank much better now. THere aren't as many deadspots.

I hope to do an update to my blog before the month is out.

Cheers
Josh
