just got new bulbs

Hi guys can anyone help me I have a 1 250w balast and 1 175W the 175 balast was dual but one transfornator died so Im using it as 1 anyway I had bot XM bulbs for the last year Today I got the 250 xm and 175 ushio
the xm light up withoput a problem bu the ushio lit up for 2 seconds and went out the balast was making noises to whats wrong?

whats so different between ushio and xm?

its just the way they are i have both myself xm's tend to light with whatever. the other well maybe luck? i have heard of they need a pulse start. just go with xm
