I am so happy I finally have a good camera. I just got my Rebel XTi today. I am using a 28-90 and a 75-300 lens I already had from my Rebel XT 35 mm. This shot was taken right out of the box on auto no flash mode.

Sorry that shot was with the Tamron 75-300 lens. I can see now that I look at the photo I still have some things to learn. LOTS more photos to come soon. Any pointers would be great. I have 2 150W MH lights with no supplemental lighting which I am finding to be a bit of a challenge with my photos.

Rosseau. I did not get the kit lens. I am using my kit lens from my of Rebel XT 35mm camera. Which I belive is the same lens. That what I was just doing was shopping for a new lens. I am going to have to save up, I just spent all my toy money for a little while getting the XTi body. I am leaning toward the Canon 100mm fixed f/2.8 but like I said that will be a while you can get it on e-bay for around 400. Keep me posted on how you like yours.

Yeah my kit lens is a 18-55mm, no USM, no IS. I personally don't know enough to comment on how bad it is.. but thats the word out there. I got a decent deal for the new camera and kit lens on eBay, really the only reason I have this lens.
That 100mm looks pretty nice i'm debating that one. I think i'll hold off until my bank account recovers and for now replace the kit lens.
I've seen a few of the 100mm's on eBay this week finalize at $450 used to $500 new, it's worth a look.
eBay can be sketchy but can work well too. I was selling an old sony point and shoot last week and nearly got scammed pretty bad.. fortunately I sniffed that out before I could lose anything.
