OK I have my new tank cycling and I have had a few posts onhere GREAT advice I have 75 gallon .Live rock.Live sand .Just ordered Bermuda skimmer and two Koralia 3x power heads from numerous recomndations on here.
After reading some of the posts I am wondering how I test or know for phospates Only because I am reading alot of people having problems with them nd My salt water test kit is only
Ph,Nitrate.nitrite and amonia.

Also I am not looking ot do the sump tank that is why i bought the hob skimmer. I am only looking to keep fish righ now if in the long haul I look for coral i will adjust but right now just the basic fish. for a start/

if u want to test phosphates, instant ocean makes a test for it

i think the amount of phosphates u have in the tank determines how fast your algea will grow, im not 100% sure about this tho

Well you certainly should test the latter three until your tank has cycled. Phosphates are not likely to be an issue for a while; since I have reef tanks, I use a photometer made by Hanna as it is easy to use.
