Just MH bulbs - no supplement ?

hey,

i have a light fixture with (3) 150 watt metal halide bulbs. It was supplemented with (2) 48" NO actinic bulbs.

I was wondering if i could just go with metal halides and no actinics. I think i would use two 14000 K bulbs on the outside and a 20000 K in the middle.

are there any problems with this? I know people do it on smaller tanks but mine is a 125.

i like this route because it is easier. Also because the wiring for the actinic bulb's within the fixture itself has started to get old.

any opinions appreciated.

wont matter for corals - like a slow boost up to high intensity lighting?

Any lighting that is avail. for reef tanks from 6500 + has maore than enough blue to support symbiotic zooanthella
