Though I have plenty of rock in my 120g, I couldn't resist after reading all the threads about TBS.
So, here's the plan. I am going to do my normal water change Friday night, transferring the old water to a 30g holding aquarium with a filter and protein skimmer. I will have a barrel of 2-day old warm saltwater mix sitting between the 30g and the 120g. As I unpack the boxes, the rocks will be smelled for rotting sponges (making sure a mantis doesn't get me), cleaned as needed, and placed in the 30g. Once I see the size and shape, I can remove a few base rocks and rearrange my exisiting live rock. Then I'll take the TBS out of the 30, inspect for mantis shrimp and gorilla crabs, dip and swish in the barrel, and place in the 120.
I have heavy gloves and a turkey baster for safety and plenty of water ready to do a change should I need it.
Is there anything I have left out? Any other way it should be done?
