Just Ordered Rock

I just ordered the 30 gallon package from Richard and it should ship next week hopefully. I have a 175watt halide over my 29gallon Is that to much light for TBS rock i dont want the sponges and things to die off making a longer cycling time till i get part 2. And one more question if a mantis and gorilla crabs show up is it safe just to through them in the sump and feeding bits of shrimp or will they reek havoc on the microfauna?
