Hey all, I met Joe (RTMA) @ the LFS this weekend, told me about Ark, duh, I've been surfing CTARS for a while wondering why I can't find anyone closer to me in Fairfield.

Glad to meet Joe and glad he told me about Ark, look forward to my stay here. I'm sure many CTARS peeps are on this section too.

I just did a tank transfer and went from a 55g to a 70g cube, it's mainly LPS, softies, still haven't gotten the SPS itch yet.

Here's some pics & my tank build below, in case you wanted to check it out:

Welcome around JoeBellz,

You have a really nice setup there. Is that a pair of cardinals? I have 2 males (one living in the sump) and I've been wanting a female for a very long time. If you have 2 females I'd love to trade with you.

Hope to see you around more.

THz

Thanks! That is a mated pair of Cardinals. I reallly didn't plan it when I bought them. After a while in my old tank, they started doing the "dance" and my male holds eggs probably every month or so now. Poor guy, I don't have the means to raise the fry so he just suffers for nothing.

Beautiful tank Joe! Hope you have a chance to come by the next reef meeting. It's a good time.

Hey Joe, it was very nice meeting you and great chatting about reefs. Your setup is beautiful, love the deep dimensions of that cube tank. One of the cleanest looking LPS tanks I've seen. I really like the rbta and that colony of zoos you got there. The look like the Fruit Loops ones I lost last year. Is that Gonipora on the right? I can't keep that stuff alive, and yours looks awesome.

Hope to see you around. J

Cool chatting with you too Joe, sucked on missing that flasher this weekend, I still think someone pocketed it and ran!

Thanks for the kind words on the tank. My RBTA's are just growing out of control, me thinks I have to get rid of one or so before they take over. I got those zoas from Westport during their 50% off sale, they're doing well so far. Yeah that's my goniopora, the rent-a-coral, I'm coming up on the 6-month mark so hopefully it stays alive, I've been lucky with the few I had.

I do love the depth of the cube, sometimes I miss the length but it's a trade off, scaping is def easier in a shallower tank, no rock stack avalanches to worry about.

Hope to make that meeting in March!

Yeah I had my set on that flasher wrasse, but I'll get one sooner or later. Maybe if I can get my three chromis out, I'll replace them with three wrasses so he'll flash more. Glad to hear you have had success so far with the Goni. They are hard to keep alive. That 50% off sale is great for picking up stuff from there, missed it this year, but pretty much bought all of their ORA sps last year. Got some great deals.

Some times I wish I went with a 24" wide tank, 18" is a bit limiting after a while.

I do hope you make the March meeting, as I'll be hosting at my place.

Beautiful tank Joe! Welcome!

Hope to see you in a meeting soon so we can learn from that experience. Anyone that can pull together a tank that nice is someone I can learn from. ;)

Yeah 24" depth is nice, no matter what the depth, it seems like we always need more, am I right :).

Are you right up the road from Westport Aq, I think you mentioned that? If the baby lets me go I will be there def.

Thanks! I still feel like a newb to the hobby, but maybe I've just gotten lucky, I could talk reef all day def.
