I'm debating on what i should do with my tank this fall. As everyone knows I'm moving to florida. The problem is my tank is all glass and weighs a ton. Do you think it would be worth the hell of transporting it or should i look more into selling the tank, stand and canopy only and picking up something new down there, and transporting all the livestock to the new tank. I mean the tank is great shape with a few scratches here and there.... and i don't want anything smaller or acrlyic cuz i'm afraid of ruining the panes.

Secondly I'm thinking about adding a refugium and two 6 foot vho's for supplementation. But is the lights a waste of money, i mean my tank has been up and running for about 9 months now and my sps and clams are colorful and growing (slowly) so i don't really need extra light but it never hurts right? Stack how much are you going to be selling your endcaps and ballast for when the time comes? How much would a homemade fuge run me?

Thirdly, I'm thinking about scraping my closed loop and adding a tunze 6080 stream (i think its somewhere around 2200 gpa) they run about 185 bucks and combining that with the two maxi mods stacker has made me. I'm just looking for opinions, so don't worry u won't hurt my feelings. I just want this tank to start looking like tank of the month material within the next year :)

just a few random pics of my ultra grade crocea, huge elegance coral, and the right side of the tank

Ok, I'll have an Icecap 660, available. Endcaps are like $7 each new so that's no big deal. If you definately want the ballast it's yours and we'll agree on a price whenthat time comes. It will be reasonable tho, basically I just want to cover the cost of MH lamps, reflectors, sockets, etc.

Fuge fab will depend on size and complexity, basically my cost of material and freight and a few bucks for my labor. i was able to make a nuce sump for Paul for about $70 and he covered my labor with a couple bottles of wine.

A fuge is a good idea for nutrient export and pod growth, hospital tank, and frag storage. Mine is a combo sump/fuge that works pretty well considering my lack of space.

I'd suggest sticking with glass but getting a new tank ready before you move is a great idea. Good luck selling the old one tho... it's not easy unless you are willing to about give it away. Andit's a big SOB to deal with moving.

Tank of the month shots are typically 3-5 years of growth and a good photographer. I like that last shot, it came out pretty well! Just wait till you see the ones I take.

BTW, I'll have your second mod ready tomorrow. Let me know what your plans are and I'll try to run over to your place in the evening...

I really have no plans that are set in stone tomorrow. I'll just wait for your phonecall when you've got a min and I'll make sure i'm home. I'd like to step up to a 300 gallon tank if I went threw the hassle of buying a new one. i would really like an 8' long tank and at least keep the 2 foot width i have now. Man i need to get my degree and get a real job so I can do this thing right.

Ya, you better make yourself a boatload of money so you can pay for your toys. I remember when I was young and single and had dreams..... ahhhh! Reality for most of us stomps out those flames!!! :)

haha I wish. them idiots don't even know how good they got it, making millions of dollars to play a game. that sure would be the life.

As awesome a Fabrizio driving iunstead of riding a bike? LOL

Inside joke... Sorry, but I just spilled my beer... Thx Mike

haha. yea i'd say somewhere within that awesome range. I moved the second mod to the other side of the tank, and took out his maxi, and i think the flow is even better now, I'm def satisfied. I may just do one more mod in the future instead of the stream, I'm not sure. first i got to pull that damn gen-x pump.
