Just when you think you've heard it all

all i can say is wierdi mean it is possible that out of the millions of babies they have there is genetic anomalies.

I dont really beleive in i guess what they call cross polenation.

Nope....haven't heard it all.

When you and Scott's Gasters have a successful spawn... that's when I've heard it all.:deadhorse1:

Seriously, intriguing story into the possibility of 'same system' hybrids.

The Ocellaris x Maroon Hybrid might make it easyer to pair Maroons . In 5-10 more years we will see black , snowflake ect. Ocellaris\Maroon Hybrids .

What a coincidence ORA happened to cross several species. I don't really care for any of them.

Me either. I think the beauty of a natural, wild-form (but still captive-bred) fish beats designer hybrids any day of the week. But judging from their new website, at least it looks like they're not selling the "stubby" ocellaris anymore...nothing like turning would-be culls into a marketing opportunity... :rolleye1:

Yes but would they be maroons at that point? I like the designer clowns. The picasso's being on the top of fish I'd like to own but there is something about a hybrid I can get into.

Its business that's all... If we as hobbyists stop buying they will stop producing hybrids. In the wild I don't think any different species will breed let alone pair up. It sounds fishy how a sperm can travel like that and Survive... Seems like artificial insemination to me... In this tech world anything is possible.

There are tons of different species pairs in the wild.. Thiellei and Leocokranos are likely the result of hybrid pairs.. There are plenty of examples out there.

There are tons different species paring you say but you only name two Thiellei and Leocokranos are likely.... Likely!!!! Tons tons.. Anyone prove of occelaris and maroon pairing in the wild??? Any clarkii maroon occelaris pairing??? I'm sure in a remote setting someone can pair or A.I. The eggs but give me prove on your tons of hybrid...

As far as I know there is one documented spawning of chrysopterus and sando in the wild in the Fautin and Allen book. Eggs were not collected, so the outcome is unknown.

10 years or so ago there was a report on reefs.org that leuk pair produced mixed offsprings of leuks, sandies and chrys. There are no pictures of chrys or sando babies.

One person sold some CB leuks on rareclowns, and they all looked like leuks.

There is a pair for sale on cherrycorals for $1800  of CB leuks. They look like leuks.

All my babies from luek pair look like the parents. I do not see a strong agrument that leuks are hybrids :)
