Good news - my tank was backordered till March 26, but another vendor (who I've bought a lot of stuff from before) had it in stock and price matched, so the UPS guy dropped off two heavy boxes at my house yesterday. Here's a few starter pics before I start putting the stand together.

Off to get started!

Ok stand is assembled. Not a big fan of it - definitely going to install corner braces like I've seen in other build threads. Install instructions were wrong too (they've added extra dowels) but I figured it out. Probably long term will buy a cabinet to match a cabinet that is already in that room and our kitchen.

Strange thing though, I have no switch on the cord for the main lights? I'm planning on putting it on a timer anyway but something's gotta be missing. I've already emailed JBJ.

Neither am I. The stand makes the overall look skinny downwards. What you mean switch? I didn't get a switch either for ANY of my lights. I had to use a timer and configure everything.

Redsea Max is one of the cleanest looks I've seen.

Instructions said there was an inline on/off switch on the cord where it exits the hood. Sounds like they got rid of it.

OK, cleaned the glass real good with Windex then added Aragalive sand and filled with water I've had mixing for a couple of days. (just kidding about the windex). Pumps are running. Skimmer (AquaEuro Nano Skimmer 2) is running, took the elbow and return pipe off to get it to fit, but can't tell what it's even doing. Gotta find a better mirror to be able to see the back side of the tank.

Traded emails with JBJ, they're going to send me a new hood (hopefully with a light switch on the cord this time). Wonder if that's why they're backordered most places right now, maybe they had a supply issue with the right cords?

Got a Coralife powerstrip for most of the plugs, will handle the lights on timers plus 4 other plugs for heater, skimmer, JBJ wavemaker, etc.. Just need to find some sort of "doubler" plug to run the Koralia powerheads off the JBJ wavemaker along with the return pumps.

Should be buying LR from a guy who's taking down a 125 reef this weekend. Between the Aragalive sand and the established LR I don't expect to see much of a cycle. Bought good test kits so I'll start playing with those now.
Here's a boring picture, nothing to see really.

I have the exact same tank. Not enough light for coral. I am working on a way to add more of those 3W each LED to my tank. The problem is that these LEDs generate heat and I need to water proof it.

looking good dude, i agree with you on the stand being kinda weak. i had to install L brackets to keep it from wobbling and the instructions i got also were not very informative. when my first tank sprung a leak i was able to start over and i had a custom stand built. i needed somthing more sturdy with a 2 year old running around.....NGVU look into Tru Lumen LED Strips....that got two of the actinic strips for my HQI NC...they have all typed of color spectrums and combos...i attached them on the outside of the plastic light cover of the hood.

How is this tank coming along?

It's doing so-so. The live rock that I got from a tank someone was taking down turned out to have a bad hair algae problem. Got a cleanup crew a couple weeks ago and they are slowly taking care of it. I've added some xenia, ricordia mushrooms, and a nice frogspawn. No fish yet. I'm embarrassed to post pics with the hair algae but as soon as it's under control I'll get new pics up.

Not true. I have a JBJ advanced and my SPS rocks. I have acans growing like crazy. The only problem is that the light it pretty white. I'm looking to supplement mine with more blue.
