Hello all,
my apologies on the long post
i've currently got a batch of black ocellaris and i've got to hold them a few more months to get the size and color-
They were raise the normal way with rots & bbs and then onto full meals of cyclopeeze by the 19th day. Golden pearls was included in meals after the 50th day or by the time they hit 12-15mm.
Frozen mix was included at around the same time.(mix is a strained mush of fresh oysters, fresh shrimp, fresh squid)
2 feedings a day, 3 on weekends.
i have just come across and started inclusion of an additional feed which is Hikari marine -S
(produced by Kyorin -japan) ingredients stated are:
white fish meal, shrimp meal, sea urchin meal, wheat flour, chitin chitosan, brewer's dried yeast, fish oil, protease, dried sea weed meal, spirulina, methionine, lysine, DHA, EPA, vitamin A, vitamin D3, vitamin E, vitamin K3, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, niacine, pantotenic acid, pyridoxine, vitamin B12, biotin, inositol, choline chloride, l-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (stabilized vitamin C), calcium iodate, manganese sulfate, magnesium carbonate
Guaranteed Analysis:Crude Protein 48% Min. Crude Fat 8% Min. Crude Fiber 2% Max. Moisture 10% Max. Ash 13% Max.
smells kind of vegemite/yeasty but every fish took it 1st time round including ocellaris broodstock, ocellaris juveniles and a trio of latezonatus(sub adult). Pellets are just over 1mm.
i've got no otohime,
Are the ingredients in the hikari balanced enough to make up 50% of a juvenile growout diet? and are there any elements in there i should be aware of?
many thanks
