Kalk Help

I have never used kalk before but I am seriously considering it. I have a pretty substantial aptasia problem, that I have not been able to take care of. Is it true that running kalk will kill the aptasia. Also, can someone point me to a thread that has some useful information about using it.

Unfortunately, running Kalk will not eliminate aptasia. You have to make a concentrated kalk paste and apply it directly to the aptasia polyp to kill it.

you have to inject the ap's with a kalk solution to kill them. Dripping kalk to help with tank chemistry and using kalk to kill nuisance anemones are totally different things. Here is a good article that will help you understand how to use kalkwasser in your tank.

To kill the ap's i would get a larger gauge needle and take a bit of water and mix in lime(kalk) till you get a bit thicker solution that you can still get through the needle. Then you literally try and jab that needle down the mouth of the victim nem and inject your kalk paste. Once it shrivels up into its hole you can continue to fill its crevice with a dab of paste as well to ensure victory. Be careful because kalk paste will damage corals in the same manner so turn off your pumps.
