Kalk Reactor Question

I purchased a Kalk reactor with a dosing pump to raise night time ph and make-up water.
My concern is that the ph will spike at night time unless ity is controlled by a ph controller to shut off the kalk dosing pump.
If that's the case then am I back to having to manually restore make up water and the Kalk reactor is only good for ph stability?
Or, is the kalk, when diluted with ro/di water, not have dangerously high ph so it can be used also for make up water?

Not to scare you, watch your alk as well while you run this. I too had a kalk reactor. I ended up selling it due to it raising my alk to the point it started to burn my corals. I now just add kalk to my top off resevior and my alk and calcium stay in check.

Unless you have a calcium reactor to off balance the HIGH ph of the kalk, it can be touchy.

Sorry I couldn't give you any pointers but that one that I had come to find out first hand.
