I am about to buy a kalk reactor and want opinions on which ( stirrer or pump ) is better and why. Any help here is great.

Make your own drip kalk reactor, Much cheaper and works just as well as any you can buy. JMHO I have been doing It this way for many years and never had any problems, Use the money for Frags!

I like the sounds of saving money. I like the way you think. I have considered it before. I am unsure of how to build one that really works. Could you point me in the right direction?

As always your help is appreciated Bill.

Thanks

I'm with reefingmadness...Guide us oh wise one...LOL

I need one for a new setup i am putting together. Don't mind DIY.

The easiest one Is a 5gallon jug the fish store sells for water. You just fill It about 4gal worth of Rodi water then add 2 tsp per gallon of Mrs Wages mix well then turn the jug on It's side and find the right drip rate to replace all of your evaporated water loss during one day. It Is wise to drip at night as the kalk will help to maintain your PH at a stable level Instead of dropping at night. As a precaution until you get the drip rate constant and feel comfortable that you will not over do the amount added just make say a gallon or two at a time. Also you don't want to use the settled waste at the bottom or the scum layer on top the clear middle water Is saturated lime water and will help maintain KH and Ca at stable levels. I clean the jug about once a month and during that time just keep adding 1/2 doses every time I refill. You can also get automated with a float valve and feed the water direct from your RODI or use a different container to suit your needs or a pinch valve to dispense the liquid.
Wise ? Cheap Yes!
