kalkwasser apex ?

I want to program my apex to dose kalkwasser with an aqualifter and manage the kalkwasser pump. Until I get a second pH probe to have a safety function on the reactor, I'll be going pretty conservative (~1 gallon kalkwasser/24h). The aqualifter does 3.5 gallon/hr, so I think 1 minute every hour should be good. I want the stirring pump to turn on for 10 minutes and then off 30 minutes before the kalk is dosed to hopefully prevent any dosing of any precipitation. Do these codes look right? This is my first run with a kalkwasser reactor, so any tips or changes to the codes are appreciated. After I get a second pH probe I'll add a If pH > *** then OFF statement to the aqualifter.

BTW, I'll have my ATO with RODI manage the balance of evaporation.

Code 1 (for the aqualifter)
Fallback OFF
OSC 059:00/001:00/060:00 Then ON

Code 2 (for the stirring pump):
Fallback OFF
OSC 020:00/010:00/060:00 Then ON

thanks in advance

O would set it up on a couple of buckets of water to measure the amount transfered in that time before setting it up. As far as the codes go there are a few different ways to program them through fusion.

Thats' what I'm doing right now. I didn't realize how much resistance the water and line would add to the aqualifter. 1 minute intervals probably not going to be enough. I put the kalkwasser stirring pump on one port of the EB8 and the aqualifter on port #8. In general, will that code for each of those get the job done how I want or do I need to change how it's written? I'll edit the times when I figure out how long it takes to pump the desired amount.

this is how i programed my scrubber light
Fallback ON
If Time 19:00 to 13:00 Then ON
If Time 13:00 to 19:00 Then OFF
you can do it a few different ways but im definitly not an expert. there forums are verry helpful and have many people that can help more than me.

Oscillation programs are what is normally used for dosing.

Although the codes I've used have more lines than that.....can't say why, it's just always what I've used. I think it's because I'm dosing 3 things at different times of the day. I am by no means a computer guy so I just did what was in the unofficial users guide and it's worked so far.

Do you plan to run Mag as well?
Would be a good idea to do so when dosing Kalk.

Holy Cow Man!!! is that pic big enough or what? lol

I wonder how long that Aqua lifter will last before it plugs with kalk?

When dosing Kalk it is not a good idea to run it through any doser of any kind.

Generally people will have their Kalk container closed, and then add R/O water with the doser to the container which in turn pushes the Kalk solution out to the tank or sump.

i've done the aqualifter dosing kalkwasser in top off water in the past. They do not last long with this method. Either they get clogged or the kalk eats into the red plastic bit and breaks the nozzles. I just took apart a few today and frankensteined two back to life. My aqualifter will work how u4ick said. It will push regular RODI water from my ATO container into my kalk reactor, which will push saturated limewater into my sump.

I haven't thought about dosing mag yet. i have a calcium reactor already running. I'll keep an eye on mag after starting the kalk reactor though.

If using aqualifter, I recommend putting it on the feed side to push water through kalk reactor otherwise it will die due to build up. I stopped using them due to a siphon which overdosed my tank years ago. I switched to a peristaltic pump such as brs dosing and never looked back. Also, are you feeding rodi directly into ato ? Good luck

I manually fill my ATO reservoir with RODI. I'll have a maxijet in it to continue working as an ATO with a float valve. The aqualifter will take water from the reservoir as well and push it into the kalk reactor.

The reservoir and reactor will be on the floor and the output of the reactor will be the highest point (at least for now), so hopefully a siphon does not occur.

Been running ato straight off the ro unit for like 4 years if you have an electronic cylinoid and a dual float switch they work great if the cylinoid fails it closes and I've never heard of 2 switches failing at the same time.

I ran one for about a year pulling straight from a top off container with kalk in it. When it slowed down I ran vinegar through it and it started working well again. Of course the kalk solution I was running was not as concentrated as one coming from a reactor.
