Kalkwasser Reactor Question

Anyone know how to set up this reactor (or have a simple/general guide to setting up kalk reactors) if I want to attach it to a fresh water reservoir?

I want to fill up the reservior with fresh water (and eventually connect it to a RO unit) but want to automate the addition of kalk.

I am new to the reactor thing and this didn't come with any instructions.



Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The way I use my Precision marine Kalk Reactor is as follows:

I have a RO/DI reservoir in the basement that is auto topped off.
I have a dosing pump on a float switch and when the sump is low it pulls a small amount of fresh RO/DI from the reservoir and pushes it into the reactor, the Kalkwater then gets pushed out the reactor and into the sump.

Because I use a dosing pump I know exactly how much Kalk water is going into the aquarium, plus it basically pumps a small amount of kalkwater all day/night so there are no serious PH spikes.

The dosing system I use is from spectrapure, it is called a litermeter III with the auto topoff system. It works great.

Do you do all your freshwater top-offs with kalk? Or do you use pure RO/DI also? Does it keep your Alk and Ca at good levels?

I'm building a Kalk reactor right now...

As stated above, I also use my Kalk reator with a ro/di water.

It keeps my ph in the right range which has been an issue for me at least.
