Katrina and red tide?

Richard, do you think that Tropical Storm Katrina will have any effect on the red tide? I know you had said that your site was not as affected by the red tide as other dealers due to the location. Will this storm change things in your opinion?

Thanks

Do not know yet as the water is still not diveable.....we continue to go to the Keys to get rock, am leaving again Tuesday to go down there.

Had a report form another collector that inshore is OK, out to about 4 miles...if that is correct we are ok, but the other farmers out in federal waters took it real tough.

I hope a few storms will churn some of the water and help kill off the red-tide and move the dead gunk around.....

We are hoping the huge swells we had from Katrina have broken up the dead zone on the bottom, but will not know for sure until the water quality gets to a point where we can dive safely.

any worries about waste being pumped from new orleans damaging gulf corals?

Millions and millions of gallons of pukewater being pumped into the Lake, cannot be a good thing. Thankfully there is a loop current off of Louisiana that takes everything south towards Mexico. I belive we will have little impact here, but the Louisiana coastal area is in for problems.
