Keeping a BTA in a 16g bowfront

Hello Guys,

I wanted to find out what your thoughts are on the following setup.

I want to tie a 16 g bowfront into my 58 gallon aquarium and house a BTA in it. The tank will just have the BTA in it with some rocks and a pair of clowns. It will have a 150 HQI bulb over. Do you think a BTA would do fine in a 16g bowfront? Again this tank will be tied into about 90 gallons of water so the parms should stay stable, i'm just worried if the bta out grows the 16 tank.

it will most likely outgrow a 16 in the long run but I'm sure you can find someone to swap you for a smaller BTA when the time comes.

Some BTAs will split often enough that it will not get over 12" in diameter.

I would not worry too much about it. Sounds like a nice home for a BTA.

I agree, it will outgrow it but the volume of water you will have total will make for a nice stable tank for it and the clowns until the time comes to either replace it with a smaller one or you can try to make it split and then start over with a small one and have one to sell;).
Good luck to you.

Thanks guys,

I want a BTA but already ran into a problem with one in my 58 a while ago, so i want to setup a tank just for it that will be tied into my main system just for it. The 16 bow is 20 x 13 x 18 so hopefully it will last in the tank for a while :)

I might even consider running PC over the 16 if it is just a BTA. A lot of people have great success keeping BTAs under PC.
