Keeping a longnose butterfly fish in a reef aquarium?

Scott Micheals notes in his books that the longnose buttefly fish(forcipiger longirostris) is reef safe. Has anyone had any experience keeping this fish in a reef aquarium? I tried Micheal's advice with regards to the "reef-safe" species of "heniochius butterfly" but that did not work too well as the pair ate various zoanthids in the tank. I am familiar with the differences Micheal discusses that seperate the reef safe species from the non-reef safe species. I was just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with keeping this fish in a reef tank with a wide range of corals such as zoanthids, lps and sps corals and clams. Thanks

Mine was reef safe, although he ate ALL of the tiny feather dusters on my live rock.

He got white spot though and died. Was quite a skittish fish too.

Lovely though. Just make sure you quarantine if you get one,as they are ich magnets.

mine is NOT reef safe...after he finished off all my dusters, he killed a $100 orange scolymia and is now working on my red one. i have also seen him pick at my open brain and bubble coral. needless to say, when my tank comes down in 2 months, he will not be making the trip to the new one.

Mine has been doing great. He does occassionally pick on one of my croceas but so far no harm done.

I also have an open brain and he does not bother the brain.
