Keeping glass clean

I just want to know how do you guys keep your glass clean especially the back glass. I have tried cleaning the back of my tank and just knock and break and even cut my hand from the sps.


Do you guys use anything other than a scraper?

I never clean my back glass. I use a mag float. I just clean 3 sides.

Yea i dont clean my back glass also but it seems that people who is keeping dominated sps tank have a clean back ground and also looks very nice when clean.

I clean the back glass with a mag float. My background is attached to the wall and gives my tank a 3D look. The rock is setup into two islands and does not touch the back glass. Works well so far.....don't know how well after the coral start growing though.

Magfloat.. When I do. Normally I'm too lazy and just clean the 2 pieces of glass

I use an ice scraper from a home improvement store to clean the back glass. Basically its just a long razorblade with a handle and once a week I get in the tank and scrape it all off.

I scrape the back every other weekend. I arranged my LR and corals in such a way that would allow me to do this w/o issues.

I don't like the look of coralline algae. Whatever patch I miss, my two tuxedo urchins take care of.

i only scrape the front. i presonally like the sides and back covered w/ a nice covering of coraline
