Keeping lta in one place

I have a nice open corner in my reef tank that I would like to have a long tentacle anemone there. From what i've read, ltas like to have their foot in the substrate and i have a bare bottom tank. I'm thinking about putting a dish filled with live sand/crushed coral down for the anemone to attach to and stay put. Has anyone tried this? What are the chances this will work?

Well uh....you probably shouldn't have bought a substrate dwelling anemone if you don't have a substrate.

Anyway, the LTA will go where the he feels most comfortable. i.e. right amount of flow and light.

Mine is at the bottom of my tank in a low flow area.

I have 5 LTA's in my sump/refuge with a DSB. They have all gathered at the discharge from my skimmer. The flow from my skimmer is strong. They look like their getting the crap beat out of them, but there must be something about that spot they like. They haven't moved in a long time.
