Keeping that Yellow

I never knew why my electric yellow milli turned green. Now I do, thanks Reef Central.

My buddy has the shawn bennet yellow tort, kind of a highlighter color if you know what I mean. Very nice though. I just got that mille 3 days ago, I had a feeling it would go to a green tint. Either way, I love mille's so I am happy.

Dog boy dave, that is a nice piece.

I dont test PO4 ever, I only have to clean algea off my glass once a week or so, figured I am near zero, and running zeo I am sure that helps. Much less cleaning than running GFO. I know Potassium Iodide Floride can green yellows out if overdosed, though I don't dose this so can't say from personal experience.

Well I am going to starve it and place it under intense light and see what happens.

Laker is a palwaensis I believe, though I'm sure the spelling isn't correct. Definately needs alot of light or it turns to a green base. I would love to see a true yellow acro, all mine turned green or blue. FYI I don't use GFO

Thanks for the potential id. I'll check it out.

For me, it turned brown if it wasn't high light and moderate to high flow. It was also the slowest growing coral I've ever had. While Idaho Grape went from half a potato chip to 6" across, that monti went from dime to quarter size.

This is te yellowest I could get with Zeovit. in my 65G, my new tank is still getting there so will have to see...

and greens :

I dose Iron, so colors of yellow and green change qiute a bit with regards to amount of FE dosed. [yellow turns greener with FE]

Did you see mine? It's is definitely all yellow with no green.

I also have that monti Reef Bass mine only gets a yellow rim, most of the main body stays green with purple or blue polyps. Here's a frag that's just starting to show it's yellow rim.
