i have this red kelp growning in my tank i have no idea what kind looking for a name. it grows like a plauge and it kinda has what i call blue spots on it it real slimey to the touch. and nutting eats it i have red, blue legs and margaritas,trochus,and astraea and they done even look at it . i have to prun it evey few days.... and ideas thanks

We wont be able to help out much without more description of what the growth looks like (is it small in size? big? shaped like ovals? shaped like Y's? shaped like curlie-cues?) or a photo. Sounds like this 'red' algae has a flourescence though. Which is interesting.

You might want to look at Distromium and Dictyota.. just as a shot in the dark. They aren't 'red' algaes though.
