Actually I haven't even tried using it with the plate yet. I need to cut the height of the diffuser chamber down about 3" first before trying it out...It's been working pretty well without it...

After getting the skimmate consistency where I want it, here is about 36 hrs worth of skimmate...I wanted it nice an black but not quite dry enough to cake all over the place...This is after running pretty wet for several days now. I think the results are pretty good considering it's a 300 gallon system with less than average bioload
