Kent Calcium and cyano

I have a 90 gallon reef that has been up for 6 months. I use RO/DI water and cycled the tank with 145 pound of cured MI rock. I had never had a problem with cyano until about a month ago.
I do regular water changes and feed very lightly. The tank only has four small fish and several corals.

At the same time the cyano started is the same time I began to dose the tank with Kent two part calcium. I stopped using the kent 5 days ago and noticed the cyano is pretty much gone.

Has anyone else used kent and noticed any cyano. There may be no correlation between the two but it seems really strange.

Also my ammonia and nitrites are zero and nitrates are almost zero.

Kent Tech CB should not have caused the algae problem. There is really nothing in it to encourage algae. I suspect that something coincided with its dosage. Do you have a protein skimmer? What are your phosphates, Calcium, and alkalinity? What sort of water motion do you have in the tank?

I have 3 maxi 1200's on a red sea wavermaker and a mag 9 from the sump with a split in the return nozzle to deliver return water to both sides of the tank.
With the salifet test my my phosphates are near nothing. and accordint to the kits my alk is about 2.8 or 2.9 and calcium is right at 400 to 420

I have used Kent and never had the problem with cyano. I have close to 3000 gph of flow in my 90g tank and have had no problems with cyano. In my 29g my flow got low and I had the problem. I cleaned it up, got a couple of new powerheads and have had no problem since.
