Kent's Crawl

Yup That Stuff
hey guys, kent and scott came down yesterday to drop off his amazingly awsome skimmer to me...its great :)...and to take a tour of some of the Southern Tier's tanks. great thanks to all of the people who shared there tanks with us. :) . now I can't wait to go see there tanks. Kent's 1000g i can only imagine to be amazing.

I took kent and scott to the zoo to see the tank. Kents tank is about 90% DIY rock and he is not having any problems with his tank. They informed me that the oyster shells that we put in the rock are full of inorganic phosphates that dont come up on some phosphate testes. these phosphates leach out of the oyster shells and cause large problems with tank. Great thanks for the info on that, and jerry has ordered some more rock to replace alot of the old stuff.

every ones tanks look great, and keep up the good work.

Hi everyone! I want to say thank you for the tour. It was a privilege to be able to see so many wonderful tanks and meet all of you. I was telling Vince that you are very fortunate to have such a great club and friendly group of reefers. Wear the Southern Tier Reef Society badge with pride! The fact that there is such a large group and there are very few to no stores in the area verifies your dedication to the hobby and your kindness to one another.

I had so much fun. I loved Vince's nano and am excited to see where the future brings him and what he'll do in a new place, the zoo had some amazing zoas (If anyone has any of those please contact me) I'm glad that we were able to narrow down the cyano issue which means smooth sailing soon.

My retinas are burned out from the colors in Nate's tank.

Then the narrow escape from the vlamingi -BTW that new tank is HUGE!

As far as chillin', how can you go wrong with the lounge chair surrounded by tanks? I'd simply never leave that chair. And dude, you have way too many bowling balls.

The bar tank was beautiful. How fortunate to buy a house with such an amazing tank and wonderful basement. Thanks for the rock, too, beautiful stuff. I'm looking at the tank cross eyed figuring out how it will fit.

Jerry's tanks looks like a perfect slice of the reef. I love how he water-juggles his enormous colonies, pops them in and out, here and there -never seen that in my life!

piazzion has all these neat unintuitive devices, never seen a canopy open like that -cool, the water tower tube that blended away and a near silent tank.

Thank you all! I love checking out people's tanks, among my favorite things to do.

Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. Do you guys live in close proximity?? maybe we could head up a little early for Kents swap and check out a few of your local tanks.

Good to see Scott again and great to finally meet Kent. Thanks for the input on the DIY rock and other interesting projects/ideas you guys are working on. Nice to have some cross pollenation with our brothers from the northlands. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys and your monstrous reefs on Labor Day. Hopefully us Southies can put in a good turnout for that. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Thanks for having us guys. I really had a good time.

Vince I hope the skimmer is working well for you. That pump was one of my favorites that i have built. It really churns out the bubbles.

Hope to make it down again sometimes.

If you guys make it down for Kent's meet you are more than welcome to stop by my place.

BTW most of us are farely spread out. But I am about 30 minutes North of Kent and just minutes off the Thruway before you would get off to go to Kent's

we made a good enough impression to make bosborn come back to RC...lol...the skimmer is working great. pullin alot of nasties out of the water. If i am able to get to kent's my car will deff stop by your house...not sure who will be in it but i know Nate will be one of them...lol...hope to see you guys soon. thanks again...

Kent, Scott,
It was a pleasure meeting both of you.
Glad you enjoyed the tour that Vince arranged for you.
Kent, whose tank are you calling HUGE?? I think that your tank may be just slightly larger, about 5X larger. LOL.

Hope to make the Labor Day meet to see that mammoth tank for myself.

Thanks

Steve
